During my contract at Eden Stanley, I had the opportunity to collaborate closely with The Information Lab, a leading Tableau partner and consultancy. My primary focus was on creating and implementing designs that elevated the Tableau platform to a level of sophistication akin to a refined product. Additionally, I undertook the development of dashboards, leveraging survey data on a big data level, to enhance the overall user experience and analytical capabilities of the product.

Through my efforts, I aimed to optimize the usability and functionality of Tableau, ensuring it delivered a seamless and efficient experience for users. Working with extensive survey data, I sought to extract valuable insights and present them in a manner that facilitated better decision-making.

The Survey Data Challenge

However, it is important to note that the project eventually faced challenges. As we delved deeper into utilizing Tableau for survey data analysis, it became evident that the platform’s capabilities were not optimal for handling of survey data. Despite our efforts to optimize the setup and query processes, the performance limitations persisted.

As a result, the project was eventually discontinued, and we explored alternative solutions that could better accommodate the specific demands of survey data analysis.

While the experience provided valuable insights into the capabilities and limitations of Tableau, it also highlighted the importance of carefully assessing tools and technologies for specific use cases to ensure successful outcomes.
